1998 WESTERN PROVINCE TRIAL RESULTS
TRIAL 1: - 22 MARCH 1998
The trial was held at "Derde Steen" north of Big Bay in rather windy cross-shore conditions. The South-easterly wind eventually won the day and the contest was abandoned at the end of round 1. The trial format is an open "round-robin" flow and top riders in each division will be determined at the end of the trials. The day's round-robin winners were:

TRIAL 2: - 19 APRIL 1998
The trial was held at beachbreak "Van Riebeeckstrand" further north of Big Bay. Light variable winds blew from all directions during the day, offshore, cross-shore, onshore and then no wind. Swell was 3-4 foot to start, but the occasional 4-5 foot close-out sets ruffled a few feathers. Three rounds were run and the day's round-robin winners will be inserted here as soon as they're finalised - watch this space!
